Cruise-In Week
and Fiesta de Veleros

Cruise-In Week has become such a popular event in Barra de Navidad, that there are now annual visitors who plan their winter vacations around the dates to make sure they don't miss out! A big reason for this is the graciousness, professionalism, and hospitality extended by the boating community to the passengers.

When you register your boat for a passenger cruise, you tell us the maximum number of people you want on your boat.  We offer two types of passenger cruises - a day sail and an afternoon music cruise.

On cruise day, passengers meet in Barra and are transported to your dock via water taxi. For all cruises, passengers are told to bring refillable water bottles; we try to ensure they all arrive with water but we ask that you have extra drinking water on board - just in case.

Music cruises load passengers in the early afternoon. After a sail around the bay, boats have the option of anchoring in the area of a "music boat", where one of the many talented local musicians will play for approximately an hour. After the music, the captain can make the call to return to port, or take the passengers on another short sail. The ticket price includes light snacks and an alcoholic beverage (beer or white wine), which are delivered to your boat before the passengers arrive.

Day cruises typically start loading passengers about 10 am, and are back in port by early afternoon, with a good chance of whale or dolphin sightings. Passengers are given a snack bag to bring with them.

Cruise-In Week gives the boating community an opportunity to work with local stakeholders to thank the residents of Barra de Navidad for sharing their lovely home with us.
